Sweden supports Ethiopia in its efforts to peacefully gain access to the sea, said Yasmin Eriksson, a member of the Swedish parliament and Deputy Head of the Defense Committee.
A delegation led by her held discussions with members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the House of People's Representatives of Ethiopia on social, political and economic issues between the two countries.
During the discussion, Yasmin Eriksson, the head of the delegation, said that Sweden supports Ethiopia in its efforts to peacefully gain access to the sea.
She also said that she will work to further strengthen the long-standing trade, investment and educational relations between the two countries.
On his part, Permanent Chief of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the House of People's Representatives, Dima Negewo (PhD), stated that Ethiopia is currently undertaking various reform efforts in the political, economic and social sectors.
He added that a National Dialogue Commission has been established and has begun work to resolve the differences in the country peacefully.
Dima explained to the delegation that the commission is working to identify various agendas arising from the community and come up with a common solution that will satisfy the majority of the community.
