The Netherlands has announced its support for Ethiopia's efforts in addressing migration and the repatriation of migrants. Rob van Baarhoven, Director of International Affairs at the Netherlands' Ministry of Justice and Security, stated this support.
Selamawit Dawit, Director General of the Ethiopian Immigration and Nationality Services, met with a delegation from the Netherlands' Ministry of Justice and Security, led by van Baarhoven. During the meeting, she briefed the delegation on Ethiopia's ongoing work related to migration and returnees and discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation with the Netherlands in this area. She also explained the ongoing reforms within the Ethiopian Immigration and Nationality Services and the efforts being made to modernize services using technology.
van Baarhoven expressed appreciation for Ethiopia's work on migration and returnees, confirming the Netherlands' readiness to support Ethiopia in this regard.
The meeting also included discussions on areas of potential collaboration, particularly capacity building to improve the efficiency of services provided by the Ethiopian Immigration and Nationality Services.
