Ethiopia has been ranked as the top African country with the highest increase in tourist numbers over the past five years.
A report from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) reveals that Ethiopia's international tourist arrivals have grown by 40% in the last five years, successfully reviving its tourism sector after the COVID-19 pandemic.
This growth rate places Ethiopia first in Africa for tourist arrival increases over the past five years.
Morocco and Egypt follow Ethiopia in second and third place respectively, according to the UNWTO's 2024 report, according to FBC.
Globally, Ethiopia is ranked sixth, behind Qatar, El Salvador, Albania, Saudi Arabia, and Curaçao.
