Ethiopia and South Sudan have discussed ways to accelerate the process of establishing an electricity interconnection.
Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan, Nebil Mahdi, held talks with the Deputy Chief of Staff of South Sudan's Ministry of Energy and Dams, Sultan Lam Tungwar Kueigwong.
Ambassador Nebil announced on his social media page that they reached an agreement to accelerate efforts to establish an electricity interconnection between Ethiopia and South Sudan through the construction of a power line.
He added that this power interconnection is part of a cooperation agreement signed by the two countries in 2022.
