The Ethiopian Ministry of Peace is working to find a lasting solution to the conflict in the border areas of Afar and Somali regions. Minister of Peace, Mohammed Endris, stated that the ministry is consulting with the House of People's Representatives' Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs to find a sustainable peace solution for the affected areas.
He attributed past conflicts in the country to the previous political system and divisive rhetoric, noting that recurring clashes in the Afar and Somali border regions have led to displacement. A national committee has been established to address this issue, aiming for a lasting resolution where all parties are considered winners. While there have been repeated conflicts in these areas, agreement has now been reached among regional leaders, and efforts are underway to achieve a lasting peace.
