The Amhara Regional Militia Office has announced that compensation and financial assistance have been provided to militia members, government, and private combatants who were injured during the Northern Ethiopia conflict.
The Director of the Office, Demis Sileshi, stated that the compensation was given to those who suffered physical injuries and to the families of the victims.
Accordingly, a budget of over 580 million birr was allocated, and compensation ranging from 100,000 to 60,000 birr was provided based on the severity of the injuries.
According to FBC, the regional communication office reported that the director mentioned that this compensation will serve as an encouragement for security forces engaged in law enforcement activities to fulfill their duties effectively.
