Brazil, Ethiopia Strengthen Ties in Agriculture, Food Security

Ethiopia and Brazil have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in agriculture and food security.

Ambassador of Ethiopia to Brazil, Leulseged Tadesse held discussions with Wellington Dias, Brazil's Minister of Social Development, Family Assistance, and Poverty Reduction. Their talks focused on enhancing collaboration between the two countries in agriculture and food security.

The Ambassador briefed the Minister on Ethiopia's progress in modernizing agriculture, ensuring food sovereignty and security, and the achievements of its school feeding program under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's leadership.

Minister Dias commended Ethiopia's successes in achieving food security through agricultural advancements, highlighting them as a valuable learning experience for Brazil. He emphasized Brazil's significant achievements in poverty reduction and hunger eradication, and expressed Brazil's commitment to close collaboration with Ethiopia in these areas.

According to information obtained from the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both parties agreed to collaborate on agriculture, food security, and climate change adaptation.
