The fire that broke out in the Merkato Shema Tera area last night has been fully contained, Mayor Adanech announced on her social media page.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly to control the fire, provided logistical support, and prevented further damage," she said. "On behalf of myself and the city administration, I thank you all."
The Mayor also stated that they will be assessing the damage to property and investigating the cause of the fire, and will inform the public accordingly.
She urged everyone to take necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
