Ethiopia's Ministry of Tourism has conducted a validation workshop to discuss the renewed tourism policy draft. The event, attended by Minister Selamawit Kassa, State Ministers, regional heads of the tourism sector, private sector stakeholders, and various associations, aimed to align the policy with the evolving dynamics of the industry.

During her welcoming remarks, Minister Selamawit Kassa emphasized Ethiopia's vast potential in the tourism and hospitality sector. She highlighted the importance of reviewing the current policy to ensure it meets the needs of a rapidly growing market and supports the country's vision of becoming Africa's premier tourist destination by 2035.

The workshop featured presentations from policy experts within the ministry, who outlined the key components of the draft policy. Participants were encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for further refinement, fostering a collaborative approach to developing a robust framework that addresses current challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector.

The revised tourism policy is expected to not only enhance Ethiopia's appeal as a travel destination but also promote sustainable practices that benefit local communities and preserve the country's rich cultural heritage. As the nation looks ahead, the Ministry of Tourism remains committed to engaging stakeholders and ensuring that Ethiopia's tourism landscape continues to thrive.

With this renewed focus on policy development and stakeholder collaboration, Ethiopia is poised to make significant strides in its tourism sector, paving the way for increased investment, job creation, and a vibrant hospitality industry that showcases the country's unique offerings to the world.
