Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr. Gedion Timothewos has met with Japanese Ambassador Shibata Hironori today, reaffirming the century-long partnership between the two nations.
Dr. Gedion highlighted Japan's significant support for Ethiopia's economic development and technical cooperation, specifically mentioning assistance with ongoing disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) programs. He invited Japanese companies to invest in Ethiopia's burgeoning economy, emphasizing ongoing comprehensive reforms.
The Minister also reiterated Ethiopia's commitment to the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). Ambassador Shibata expressed his dedication to strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the economic sector, and acknowledged Ethiopia's crucial role in regional peace and security.
