The Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Belete Molla, held discussions with Ethio Telecom's CEO, Frehiwot Tamru, on collaborative efforts to accelerate Ethiopia's digital transformation.
The Minister highlighted Ethio Telecom's status as a national pride and symbol, emphasizing its leading role in the Digital Ethiopia 2025 journey and its impressive achievements in digital services and telecommunications. He also indicated a commitment to collaborative work on expanding digital service access and inclusivity for citizens.
Frehiwot Tamru, CEO of Ethio Telecom, stated that the company is undertaking extensive work to achieve the goals of Digital Ethiopia.
Ministry of Innovation and Technology officials visited Ethio Telecom's Experience Center, confirming the significant capacity built to support various sectors including agriculture, education, health, industry, mining, transport, finance, and tourism, including the Smart City project.
ENA reported citing the information released by Ethio Telecom, that both organizations agreed to establish a permanent joint platform for close collaboration to accelerate the Digital Ethiopia transformation.
