African Union Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat has reported significant progress across numerous sectors, despite facing political, economic, and diplomatic headwinds. Victories against COVID-19, Ebola, and Mpox demonstrate successes in public health, complemented by advancements in education (with a focus on AI and innovation), trade (through the operational AfCFTA), and infrastructure development. The AU is strengthening its institutional framework, expanding international partnerships, and making strides in climate change policy, agriculture, and the blue economy. These achievements, according to Mahamat, lay a solid foundation for even more ambitious programs in the future.
