Prime Minister Abiy has expressed his gratitude for the IMF's support and acknowledged the positive results of the program so far. This came as PM Abiy met with Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
On the occasion, she commended Ethiopia's ongoing economic reform program. PM Abiy emphasized that the reforms are based on a Home-Grown Vision and Reform Agenda, demonstrating Ethiopia's strong ownership of the process.
The Prime Minister highlighted the bold and comprehensive measures taken to address long-standing macro challenges, stating that the ongoing implementation of the program will bring macro stability, unleash growth, improve living standards, and establish Ethiopia as an African beacon of prosperity.
Georgieva's visit underscores the IMF's commitment to supporting Ethiopia's economic development and fostering dialogue on policies aimed at ensuring resilience and shared prosperity, it was learned.
