Ethiopian Airlines is on the brink of transforming air travel across Africa with its groundbreaking new airport initiative. Situated just 40 kilometers from Addis Ababa, this cutting-edge facility is engineered to accommodate an impressive 110 million passengers each year, which is four times the capacity of the airline's existing hub.

This ambitious airport city, developed in collaboration with the acclaimed architects at Zaha Hadid, is set to elevate Addis Ababa into a prominent global aviation center. The project is expected to enhance Ethiopian Airlines' connectivity while simultaneously fostering trade and tourism throughout the African region.

Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tassew emphasized the airline's vision, stating, "Our aim is to improve air transport in Africa and establish Addis Ababa as a premier hub for both passengers and cargo." According to a local media's report, Ethiopian Airlines plans to expand its network to 207 destinations by 2035, by maintaining its leadership position through strategic alliances and ongoing innovation, ultimately reshaping the landscape of African aviation.
