The Ethiopian Industrial Resources Development Organization disclosed that truckloads of edible oil are being transported to Tigray. The edible oil was purchased for the Tigray region with federal government subsidies.

Tigray, which has been breezing an air of peace and tranquility thanks to the Pretoria Agreement signed in November 2022 with the Federal government now needs no less than 6 million liters of cooking oil.

This week shiploads of the oil are being transported in bulk to Tigray, Abrehat Andemichael, Manager of the Mekele Branch of the Ethiopian Industrial Resources Development Organization, underscored.

Andemichael stated that currently 82, 400 liters of oil has been purchased, with all preparations finalized to distribute the appreciable amount to the cooperatives.

The organization has pledged to press on with subsidizing oil, sugar and other industrial products as well as Ethiopia’s staple food to consumers.//
