Ethiopian Airlines Group, a leading force in African aviation, has celebrated the graduation of its 8th cohort of highly-trained aircraft maintenance specialists today, marking a significant step in its commitment to operational excellence and national development.
This unique program, a collaborative initiative between Ethiopian Airlines and the Ethiopian Air Force, transcends standard technical training by instilling a strong foundation of physical fitness, psychological resilience, and unwavering patriotism.
The month-long intensive program, conducted at the prestigious Ethiopian Air Force Academy Military Training School, pushed these future technicians beyond their technical limits. The curriculum extended far beyond the standard aviation syllabus, encompassing rigorous physical conditioning, in-depth psychological development modules, and focused lessons on patriotism and national pride.
This holistic approach, according to Brigadier General Negera Lelisa, Deputy Commander of Air Logistics of the Ethiopian Air Force, is designed to equip the graduates not only with the requisite technical skills for their profession but also with a deep understanding of the nation’s current landscape and the motivation to serve with distinction.
This innovative training philosophy underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ broader strategy to cultivate a highly skilled workforce, deeply connected to the airline's success and the nation's progress.
Zenebework Gebretsadik, Ethiopian Airlines Group Vice President of Human Resources, emphasized the strategic value of the partnership at the graduation ceremony.
“This joint effort between two pivotal aviation institutions,” she stated, "is instrumental in achieving Ethiopian Airlines' vision of a workforce that is not only technically superior but also fundamentally patriotic, ethically grounded, and physically robust."
She also added that it is a testament to the airline’s long-term investment in human capital and the future of Ethiopian aviation.
The newly graduated specialists expressed deep gratitude for the experience, stating the rigorous training has inspired a renewed commitment to using their skills in service of their country. According to sources from the Defense Forces’ social media, the graduates are now eager to contribute their expertise to the maintenance and upkeep of Ethiopian Airlines' growing fleet, reinforcing the nation’s standing as a continental aviation leader.
