IGAD Executive Secretary, Worknesh Gebeyehu (PhD) held talks with Chairman of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on the role of IGAD in facilitating sustainable peace talks.
The discussion which took place Sunday in Djibouti, according to the executive secretary, had some positive news.
“Our discussion centered on the role played by IGAD in facilitating discussions on the prevailing crisis. We agreed on the imperative for a sustainable #ceasefire, aiming to alleviate humanitarian conditions & create a conducive environment for a final political resolution,” Workneh wrote on X.
