Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended warm congratulations to African nations and peoples in a message delivered to the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, emphasizing the burgeoning strength of the Global South and the increasingly significant partnership between China and Africa. Highlighting the AU's success in uniting African countries to advance integration and address global challenges, Xi noted the rise of Africa's international standing.
He underscored the significant progress made in the China-Africa relationship throughout 2024, culminating in the successful Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). This summit, Xi stated, marks the commencement of a new phase of collaboration, characterized by the joint construction of an all-weather community with a shared future, reported xinhua.
Xi reiterated China's commitment to working alongside African leaders to implement the six proposals for jointly advancing modernization and ten partnership actions, aiming to deliver tangible benefits to the over 2.8 billion people of both China and Africa. The message underscores China's continued support for Africa's path towards independence, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
