AU Vows To Accelerate Africa’s Industrial Growth ,Empowering  Youth, Women Entrepreneurs

The African Union has announced that it will continue to strengthen its support for youth and women entrepreneurs to accelerate Africa’s industrial growth.

The African Industry Week has begun today here in Addis Ababa.

This year’s Industry Week aims to empower women, harness the opportunities of the African Free Trade Area, strengthen partnerships and encourage innovation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ron Osman Omar, Head of the Industry, Mining, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Division at the African Union Commission, said that the growing technological innovation in Africa is instrumental in achieving the continent’s goals.

The head noted that the promotion of artificial intelligence, clean industry and technology can help achieve Africa’s Agenda 2063.

The Media Forum, which is part of the Industry Week, will help build a narrative that will drive Africa’s transition to industry.

The Director said that African women have the potential to create jobs and that the Union’s support will continue to be strengthened to help them use this potential and solve the problems they face in the industrial journey.

She also noted that women from various African countries presented their creative works during the Industry Week.

She said that the African Union is supporting young and female entrepreneurs under the African Enterprise Framework, and many young people have started exporting their creative products.

She also indicated that support for young and female entrepreneurs will continue to be strengthened to accelerate the continent’s industrial growth and achieve the Union’s 2063 goals.
