Ambassador Muktar has just wrapped up a productive meeting with Saqr bin Suleiman Al-Qurashi, the Director General of African Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two officials have delved into a range of critical issues, exploring opportunities for cooperation on both a bilateral and global level.
The discussions focused on bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. Ambassador Muktar emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia in all areas, building upon their long-standing historical and multifaceted relationship.
He highlighted his commitment to furthering this cooperation during his stay in Saudi Arabia, particularly in elevating economic ties. He outlined plans to focus on investment, trade, tourism, and development cooperation, working closely with relevant Saudi institutions.
Saqr bin Suleiman Al-Qurashi, in turn, acknowledged Ethiopia's crucial role in the Horn of Africa across all sectors. He expressed a strong desire to collaborate with Ethiopia, particularly in agriculture, investment, trade, education, and healthcare.
He assured Ambassador Muktar of his government's readiness and commitment to facilitating these collaborations. Furthermore, both officials exchanged views on strengthening their cooperation on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
