Ethiopian Commercial Bank has seen a surge in digital transactions during the recent holiday season, starting with Ethiopian New Year. Over 828 billion Birr has been transacted through the bank's digital payment options. Between August 30th and September 26th, 2017, over 145 million transactions were processed through the bank's digital payment channels, resulting in a total of 828,549,614,770 Birr in transactions. Of these transactions, approximately 84% were conducted through mobile banking, accounting for over 696.5 billion Birr in transactions.
