Ethiopia and China have a unique opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure development in Africa. By joining forces under the Belt and Road Initiative, these two nations can accelerate the construction of vital roads, railways, and power plants. Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chen Hai remarked.
Talking To EBC world, the Ambassador mentioned the infrastructure resources that can lead to a better modernization, besides strengthening ties with China.
China has been advancing its modernization with its high-quality development, as it is expected to benefit the cooperation with Ethiopia in particular.
China is seen as a key player in Ethiopia’s development path standing as a financier through its ambitious Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
‘Infrastructure is crucial for modernization not only Ethiopia but the whole continent’, the ambassador said, adding that China and Ethiopia should join hands to make use of china’s capital, knowledge, advanced skills and Ethiopia’s rich Human Resources.
Ethiopia’s membership in BRICS and global south should further enhance cooperation with China, he pointed out.
‘Ethiopia is a promising land of development and cooperation, as a result both major countries of global south and members of BRICKS should push forward the economic and trade cooperation’ he further noted.
