The Oromia Culture and Tourism Bureau has announced that the first-ever Irreecha Expo will be held from September 28 to October 4 in Addis Ababa.
Irreecha is the Oromo people’s Thanksgiving festival, celebrated near rivers or water bodies to mark the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the new harvest.
The expo is designed to integrate the festival with its economic and cultural benefits, further promoting multiculturalism and harmony.
The event is expected to attract diverse participants, including members of the diaspora, and accommodate over 255 businesses showcasing their products and services.
The expo will feature commercial displays, cultural clothing and jewelry, handicrafts, traditional food fairs, music concerts, panel discussions, and other activities.
