Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his happy wishes to the Muslim community on the occasion of the 1445th Eid al-Adha, which will be observed tomorrow (June 16, 2024) by Muslims globally.
The Prime Minister has recalled the vitality of Eid al-Adha, commemorating Ibrahim’s unwavering devoutness to fulfill God’s command by willing to sacrifice his son Ismail as a complete act of obedience.
The Premier said that there are a number of lessons the faithful should draw from this, including the fact that prosperity does not come without sacrifices. This calls for the willingness to sacrifice emotions, attitudes, habits and ideologies for the sake of the people and the country as the reward of such acts will be more than peace, he said.
He also took the occasion to highlight that the national dialogue will be successful only by contributing better ideas and great knowledge with the necessary sacrifices of self-interest.
