President of the Tigray Region Interim Administration, Lieutenant General Tadesse Werede, stated that modern systems should be followed to modernize the agricultural sector and increase productivity.
A discussion regarding the agricultural strategic implementation plan, prepared by the Regional Interim Administration's Agriculture and Natural Resources Bureau in collaboration with stakeholders, was held in Mekelle city.
Speaking at the forum, the President of the Regional Interim Administration, Lieutenant General Tadesse Werede, said that it is impossible to continue with the previous strategy and policy for effective agricultural development, and it is necessary to work on becoming effective by adding new technologies.
He mentioned that it is appropriate to work in coordination to make the strategic implementation prepared in this regard effective and especially to improve the lives of the rural community. ENA reported that he assured that the regional government will provide the necessary support in this regard.
Dr. Eyasu Abreha, Head of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Bureau of the Interim Administration, for his part, said that if it is possible to modernize the agricultural sector and increase productivity, it will enable people to move out of dependence and especially improve the lives of the rural community.
