Ethiopia has been ranked among the countries with the fastest economic growth in the world.
Dr. Fitsum Assefa, member of the Prosperity Party's Executive Committee and Minister of Planning and Development, stated that the multifaceted development work carried out through reforms has enabled Ethiopia to be ranked among the countries with the fastest economic growth globally.
She also mentioned that the country has achieved an average annual economic growth of 7.2% over the past years, making it the largest economy in East Africa.
She highlighted the numerous achievements in macroeconomic implementation and domestic economic reforms.
Significant growth and success have been achieved in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, tourism, digital development, and other sectors ENA reported.
The Minister noted various activities that have addressed previous shortcomings in monetary policy.
She mentioned the increasing profitability of government development organizations; Ethio Telecom alone paid 27 billion Birr in taxes last year.
She stated that 230 million quintals of wheat were produced last year alone through irrigation development, particularly summer irrigation.
She pointed out that 27,000 kilometers of new roads have been constructed in the past six years, and assured that this will continue to be strengthened.
