Professor Mirgisa Kaba has been awarded the title of Public Health Professor in recognition of his significant contributions. These contributions include the publication of 19 research articles in internationally renowned journals, his effective teaching and academic community service, and his impactful institutional leadership in advancing his college and university to its current standing.
The Addis Ababa University Board of Management has conferred full professorship on five scholars. The recipients are:

Dr. Mekonnen Eshete – Plastic Surgery
Dr. Mirgisa Kaba – Public Health
Dr. Teberk Lik – Development Geography
Addis Ababa University's Board of Management approved these promotions, as presented by the University Senate, based on the authority granted by Proclamation No. 1294/2015 of the House of Peoples' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, concerning the establishment of autonomous universities.
