Ethiopia's Minister of Peace, Mohamed Edris, today stressed the urgent need to intensify efforts aimed at fostering lasting peace and strengthening national unity across the country.
Minister Mohamed's remarks came during a national consultative forum currently underway at the African Leadership Excellence Center. The forum brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including countrywide elders, religious leaders, clan leaders, and heads of peace institutions, for crucial discussions.
Highlighting Ethiopia's rich heritage, the Minister underscored that the nation possesses a wealth of valuable and well-developed traditional peace resources. These traditional mechanisms, he noted, have historically played a vital role in resolving conflicts and solidifying peace within communities.
Despite these inherent strengths, Minister Mohamed emphasized the necessity for all stakeholders to collaborate actively in building sustainable peace. He stated that the ongoing forum is designed to facilitate joint deliberations and to collectively seek solutions for pressing challenges facing the nation.
The forum is proceeding under the pertinent theme: "Our Social Resources for Our Multi-National Unity," reflecting a commitment to leveraging Ethiopia's diverse societal assets for collective harmony.
