The Oromia Tourism Commission held a Tourism and Technology Forum today at the Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa, bringing together key stakeholders from across the tourism and tech sectors.

The event aimed to explore innovative ways to enhance Ethiopia’s tourism industry through digital transformation and modern technology integration.

The forum featured an exhibition that showcased digital tools, platforms, and services designed to improve tourism experiences, promote destinations, and streamline operations within the sector.

The exhibition was officially opened and visited by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Tourism Minister, Selamawit Kasa, who praised the initiative as a timely step toward modernizing the nation’s tourism offerings.

Speaking at the event, Nega Wedajo Deputy Commissioner of Oromia Tourism Commission emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to position Ethiopia competitively in the global tourism market.

He stressed the need for collaboration among government bodies, private sector players, and tech innovators to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth in tourism.

The forum is expected to pave the way for actionable strategies that support the digitization of tourism services, attract more international visitors, and create economic opportunities across Ethiopia.
