High-level officials and global investors gather in Addis Ababa to spotlight Ethiopia’s future as a leading African investment destination.
The Invest in Ethiopia 2025 Business Forum officially commenced today in Addis Ababa, drawing prominent government leaders, global and local investors, business executives, and members of the diplomatic community. The highly anticipated event marks a critical step in Ethiopia’s effort to position itself as a premier destination for investment in Africa.
The forum was opened in the presence of Ethiopia’s President Taye Atsekeslassie, Deputy Prime Minister Adem Farah, who also leads the Coordination Centre for the Democracy and Prosperity Party, and Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, alongside other key ministers and stakeholders.
Organised by the Ethiopian Investment Commission in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and various development organisations, the two-day event is the third in the Invest in Ethiopia series and aims to build on previous successes by reinforcing investor confidence and announcing forthcoming reform initiatives.
According to the organisers, the central objective of the forum is to attract new, sustainable, and inclusive investments across key sectors of the Ethiopian economy, including manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure, and technology. The event also serves as a platform to showcase the government’s commitment to economic reform, transparency, and private sector engagement.
Sessions throughout the forum will feature discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities involving leading international and local companies, economic policymakers, investment consultants, and development partners. A key focus is the unveiling of new investment policy reforms, which are expected to make Ethiopia more competitive and investor-friendly in the global marketplace.
“This forum is not just about attracting capital,” said one senior official. “It’s about reshaping our investment landscape in a way that benefits all, including local communities and international partners.”
Through the Invest in Ethiopia 2025 Forum, Ethiopia seeks to create a more predictable and enabling investment climate while reaffirming its readiness to work with global investors under a shared vision of long-term prosperity.
The forum continues into tomorrow with panel discussions and strategic announcements expected to offer further insights into Ethiopia’s evolving investment framework, it was learned.
