The 57th Continental Conference of Ministers of Finance, Economic Development, and Planning of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa has begun in Addis Ababa.
The conference is attended by President Taye Atske Selassie, Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa Claver Gatete, Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area Wamkele Mene, ministers, and heads of continental and international institutions.
The conference is being held under the theme: "Formulating Strategic Directions to Accelerate the Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement".
It is stated that the main agenda of the conference is to deliberate on the implementation process of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement and set directions for future actions.
It is known that the conference was held at the experts' level for three days from March 12 to 14, 2025, learnt ENA.
