Ethiopia Becoming Preferred Investment Hub, Chinese Ambassador States at Business Forum

Ethiopia's growing appeal as a prime investment destination has been highlighted today by China's Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chen Hai, during a business cooperation and experience exchange conference between Ethiopia and China's Xinjiang Province held in Addis Ababa.

The forum brought together officials and business representatives from both sides to discuss enhancing economic ties.

Speaking at the event, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Hadera Abera, underscored the existing robust economic relationship between Ethiopia and China, particularly in trade and investment. She noted Ethiopia's significant role within the broader framework of China-Africa cooperation and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in key sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, and technology. Ambassador Hadera added that the visit by the Xinjiang provincial delegation would further solidify relations between the two nations.

Ambassador Chen Hai echoed the sentiment of Ethiopia's rapid growth across various sectors, reinforcing his view that the country is becoming a more attractive destination for investors. He specifically pointed to Ethiopia's recent membership in BRICS as an opportunity to further deepen bilateral cooperation.

The Chinese Ambassador also encouraged investors from China, particularly from Xinjiang Province, to explore opportunities in Ethiopia, citing the conducive investment environment fostered by the Ethiopian government. He assured attendees that the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia is ready to provide the necessary support to facilitate successful investment ventures by Xinjiang businesses, FBC reported.
