Addis Ababa's ongoing development initiatives are being lauded as a blueprint for urban transformation across Africa, according to ministers and delegates attending the African Conference on Child Protection.
Visiting officials, part of a delegation comprising ministers from various African nations, toured major development sites within the Ethiopian capital. They expressed strong admiration for the holistic urban transformation efforts, noting how these projects are making Addis Ababa remarkably clean and livable.
"The corridor development and other ongoing projects are truly fitting for Addis Ababa's status as the African capital," remarked one delegate during the tour.
Dr. Miesaa Elema, Head of the Mayor's Office Press Secretariat, told Fana Digital that the visiting dignitaries specifically highlighted the inclusive nature of these developments as a key takeaway for other African cities.

Focus on Green Spaces, Heritage, and Public Amenities Praised
The delegates particularly commended efforts dedicated to children and youth, the construction of new public restrooms contributing to urban cleanliness, and the significant emphasis placed on developing green spaces and riverine areas.
Furthermore, the work undertaken to preserve historical heritage, such as the Adwa Victory Memorial, was singled out for praise. This monument, a source of profound historical pride and identity, is being diligently prepared for future generations.
The ministers, according to FBC, underscored that the development initiatives, by actively ensuring public participation and benefit, serve as an invaluable case study for urban development strategies across the continent.
