The Ethiopian Space Science Society announced that around 7:30 PM yesterday, a cluster of objects were observed moving rapidly and appearing to burn up in the sky over southern and southwestern parts of Ethiopia.
Based on observed images, the institution stated that these objects appear to be space debris or meteor fragments.
The cluster was observed moving at high speed across the sky towards the southern part of the country.
The Society stated that they are closely investigating the situation to definitively explain the nature of the event.
They also indicated that any verified information will be released to the public.
Until the investigation is complete, the Society urged everyone to remain calm and patient.
