Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and First Lady Zinash Tayachew have hosted a Christmas luncheon at the National Palace.
The luncheon was for elderly and disabled individuals from various parts of Addis Ababa. The event, held at the National Palace, also included a tour of the National Palace Museum.
Those attending expressed their immense joy at the Prime Minister's kind gesture. Debebe Jida and Kebedech Worku praised the Prime Minister's act of spending the holiday with the elderly and disabled, calling it an exemplary act that should be replicated nationwide. Getnet Negash highlighted the importance of mutual support as a defining characteristic and value of Ethiopians.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the ongoing development work benefiting the elderly and disabled, particularly commending government efforts to make development projects accessible to people with disabilities. The elderly attendees also expressed their delight at visiting the National Palace Museum, according to ENA.
Gebre Desta noted that this was his first visit to the National Palace, praising the museum's captivating historical artifacts and overall presentation. He also thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunity to visit. Aster Negash emphasized that the historical artifacts in the National Palace Museum reflect Ethiopia's rich heritage and expressed optimism about Ethiopia's future through mutual support and peace.
