Ethio-China Tourism Promotion Forum was held in Beijing, China in Ethiopian embassy.
The forum has laid a foundation to promoting Ethiopia’s tourist destinations and attracting Chinese tourists to Ethiopia.
Major Chinese Tour Operators took part in Ethio-China Tourism Promotion Forum. Hundreds of representatives and leaders from 214 tourism associations and tour operators were in attendance.
Briefing the Guests of honor and attendees, Amb. Tefera Derbew explained Ethiopia’s potentials in the tourism industry, highlighting the country’s diverse culture, wild lives, history and heritage sites, and he urged Chinese travel agencies to include Ethiopia in their list of destinations.
There was a need from the audience side, particularly from the participants of Chinese tour operators to have a deeper understanding of Ethiopian culture and history in order to fully appreciate the country as a tourist destination, the embassy said.
Senior government officials from the Ethiopian and Chinese tourism sectors and relevant public and private segments were also in the attendance, according to the embassy.
