The Deputy Head of Mission at the Ethiopian Embassy in China, Ambassador Dewano Kedir, stated that the international acceptance of Ethiopian coffee, including in China, has significantly grown.
The Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing participated in the third "Beijing CBD International Coffee Culture Festival".
The program was held under the theme: "The World’s Coffee Heritage - The Light of Ethiopia - The Cradle of Coffee Culture".
The Circulation Industry Promotion Department of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Ethiopian Mission jointly organized the event.
The Deputy Head of Mission at the Ethiopian Embassy in China, Ambassador Dewano Kedir, gave a presentation on Ethiopian coffee.
In his presentation, he stated that Ethiopia is the origin of fine-flavored (Arabica) coffee, a producer and exporter of quality coffee, and home to numerous coffee varieties with excellent flavors and diverse characteristics.
He indicated that the demand for Ethiopian coffee is significantly increasing in various countries, including the Chinese market.
He also stated that the government is undertaking various efforts to improve coffee production and quality.
He also pointed out that due to the government's focus, coffee production in Ethiopia is growing in both quantity and quality.
He called on Ethiopian coffee exporters to work in collaboration with Chinese companies in coffee export trade and other coffee-related sectors.
The Ambassador stated that the mission will provide the necessary support for this.
Various Ethiopian coffee export products were displayed at the festival, and discussions were held with representatives from various companies regarding coffee trade.
Information from the Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing indicates that companies, various coffee buyers, exporters, distributors, processors, and governmental and private institutions engaged in the coffee sector participated in the program.
