The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has announced that the agenda gathering process will begin soon in the Amhara region following the completion of participant identification.
Commission Spokesperson Tibebu Tadesse stated that effective work has been carried out over the past three years to conduct an inclusive and participatory national dialogue.
He stated that the work has been carried out in three main phases: participant identification, agenda gathering, creating awareness about the process, and facilitating conditions for domestic and international institutions to work as partners in the process.
He mentioned that the participant identification work has been successfully completed in all regions and the two city administrations, except for the Tigray region.
He also noted that the agenda gathering process has been largely completed successfully in most regions and the two city administrations.
The spokesperson pointed out that the commission has been collecting agendas through various options in addition to public forums to make the process more inclusive.
The spokesperson further added that the commission will carry out the work of finalizing agenda gathering in the areas where it has not yet been done in the remaining period.
He highlighted that since participant identification has been carried out in the Amhara region, the process will move to agenda gathering in a short time, and discussions are being held with various stakeholders for this, ENA learnt.
