Preparations are on track as Addis Ababa is looking forward to hosting the World Finance for Development Summit scheduled to take place from 22-26 July 2024 G.C.
Ethiopia has come to terms with the UN to host the big gathering here in Addis Ababa. It came after an agreement was made between the permanent representative of Ethiopia to the UN, Ambassador Tesfaye Yilma and Economic and Social affairs deputy general secretary of the UN, Li Junhua . The move is a practical testament to prove the commitment of Ethiopia to promote and materialize the UN’s virtues and principles into practice.
The meeting would help the two sides to make calls for sustainable development, the ambassador explained. Li Junhua, for his part, appreciated Ethiopia’s commitment to host the conference calling this vital to mobilize financial resources for the implementation of SDGs. Recall, Ethiopia had hosted the third International Conference on Financing for Development in Addis Ababa, on 13-16 July 2015.
