Ethiopia’s Solomon Barega clocks a huge 7:25.82 in the men's 3000m underway in Glasgow, Scotland.
That's an improvement of his own 5th place on the indoor all-time list .
Barega is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He won the gold medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, silver for the 5,000 metres at the 2019 World Championships in Doha and bronze in the 10,000 metres at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
Similarly, Ethiopia’s Habitam Alemu clocks a strong 1:57.86 in the women's 800m underway in Glasgow, Scotland.
Born in Mer’awi, Gojjam, Amhara, Alemu represented her country at the 2015 World Championships, and was a finalist at the 2016 World Indoor Championships. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, she ran a personal best to progress through the heats, but was eliminated in the semi-finals.
She placed sixth in the 800 meters at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Alemu twice earned overall 800m World Indoor Tour victory, winning in 2019 and in 2021. //
