Heroic Reporter Swept Away by Punjab Floods

Pakistani TV journalist Ali Musa Raza has been dramatically swept away by fierce floodwaters in southern Punjab's Koh Sulaiman while covering the region's devastating deluge. Despite the extreme danger, Raza continued his live broadcast for local channel Ruhi TV, aiming to highlight the desperate plight of residents trapped by the rising waters.

Footage from Monday shows Raza fully immersed in the flood, with only his head and microphone visible. "You can see water is pushing me forward, you can't control yourself while standing here, I think I must take safety measures," Raza reported, struggling against the powerful currents. He warned that the situation was "getting worse" just moments before being carried away by the torrent.

Heavy monsoon rains in the Koh Sulaiman tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan have caused small rivers and streams to overflow, cutting off roads and isolating numerous villages.

Pakistan is bracing for the full force of the monsoon season, with warnings of increased risks in its mountainous and rural regions. Over the past three weeks, more than 120 people have tragically died across the country in climate-related incidents. According to Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), two-thirds of these fatalities resulted from house collapses, flash floods, drowning, and electrocution. The story is from Viory.
