Ambassador Fitsum Arega, Director General of the Ethiopian Diaspora Service, announced that the Ethiopian Diaspora Associations Union has been established for the first time, comprising diaspora associations from regions and city administrations.
The director general indicated that the union's founding and operational bylaws were approved and board members, a president, a vice president, and a secretary general were elected during the union's constitutive assembly.
Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that Ambassador Fitsum expressed hope that the union will work on key issues concerning the diaspora, ENA learned.
