The families of victims from the 2019 Ethiopian Airlines crash are demanding justice, as new evidence reveals Boeing's shocking disregard for safety. Documents released this week show that Boeing executives deliberately withheld critical information about the 737 MAX's flawed flight control system from Ethiopian Airlines pilots, just months before the deadly crash.
This revelation has reignited the firestorm surrounding Boeing's handling of the 737 MAX crisis. The company's alleged cover-up, which led to the deaths of 346 people in two crashes, has sparked outrage and calls for accountability.
Boeing executives reportedly declined to respond to inquiries from the chief pilot of Ethiopian Airlines regarding the MCAS flight control system in late 2018, a system that would ultimately be implicated in the tragic crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302. Naoise Connolly Ryan, who tragically lost her husband in that incident, expressed her discontent with Boeing, accusing the company of failing to provide crucial safety information to airlines.
A crucial hearing is scheduled for Friday, October 11th, where a federal judge will consider objections to a proposed plea deal between Boeing and the U.S. Department of Justice. Victims' families are vehemently opposed to the deal, arguing it doesn't hold Boeing accountable for its actions and fails to protect future passengers.
"Boeing put continuing its conspiracy of concealment ahead of passenger safety, killing all those on board," said Paul Cassell, the families' lawyer. He believes the newly released emails prove Boeing's criminal intent to deceive the FAA.
The families are determined to fight for justice. They will be present at the hearing in Fort Worth, Texas, urging the judge to reject the plea deal and potentially put Boeing executives on trial.
