Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has stressed the importance of continued reform in Ethiopia's tax collection system, emphasizing the need for transparency, efficiency, and fairness.
Speaking at the 6th Annual Recognition and Award Ceremony for Faithful Taxpayers, Dr. Abiy highlighted the positive changes already implemented and urged further progress. He stated that a transparent and equitable tax system is crucial for the benefit of all citizens.
"Reducing corruption and modernizing our tax collection system is essential to creating a process that is beneficial for all, transparent, efficient, and fair," the Prime Minister said.
Dr. Abiy also commended the awardees for their commitment to fulfilling their civic duty, stating that "Integrity starts with the individual; paying taxes is not only a responsibility but also a reflection of that integrity."
He assured citizens that the government will utilize tax revenue responsibly, investing it in major national projects that will benefit all Ethiopians.
The Prime Minister's remarks come as Ethiopia continues to implement economic reforms aimed at fostering growth and development.
