North Korea's military has announced plans to sever all road and rail connections with South Korea starting Wednesday, alongside the construction of robust defense structures in the affected regions.

According to a report from the North Korean People's Army, the initiative will kick off on October 9, aiming to completely isolate North Korea from South Korea.

The military emphasized that these actions are necessary to fortify their territory against perceived threats, labeling South Korea as the primary adversary and asserting that this move is a defensive strategy to maintain peace and security in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

In light of escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula, North Korea described its decision as a "more resolute and stronger measure" in response to South Korean military drills and the presence of U.S. strategic nuclear assets in the area.

To avoid any potential misunderstandings or accidental conflicts regarding the fortification efforts, the North Korean military communicated with the U.S. forces stationed in South Korea.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff reported no signs of construction activity by the North Korean military near the border as of Wednesday morning, despite the ongoing strain in relations between the two nations.
