Ethiopia Partners with World Food Program for Sustainable Development

The Ethiopian Ministry of Women and Social Affairs has called on the World Food Program (WFP) to continue its vital work in the country, moving beyond humanitarian aid to focus on long-term sustainable development.

Minister Ergoge Tesfaye (Dr) met with Zilatan Milisich, WFP Representative in Ethiopia, to discuss the program's future role. Dr. Ergoge praised the WFP's contributions to social protection, safety nets, and pandemic relief efforts.

The Ministry emphasized the need for continued collaboration with the WFP in key areas including social Protection, Women's Economic Empowerment and Capacity Building.

Milisich expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted Ethiopia's commitment to food self-sufficiency. The WFP has pledged to continue working closely with the Ministry and other partners to achieve these shared goals.
