Ethiopia seeks United Kingdom's support in its bid to join the World Trade Organization (WTO). Finance Minister Deeta Eyob Tekalign (Dr) made a direct appeal to UK Trade and Economy Minister Deeta Douglas Alexander.
The call for support came during the recent African Investment International Forum held in London. Dr. Eyob highlighted Ethiopia's commitment to accelerating its WTO membership preparations, emphasizing the country's recent macroeconomic policy reforms.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed that Ethiopia's WTO accession team has formally requested the UK's assistance in navigating the complex negotiation process. This move underscores Ethiopia's determination to integrate into the global trading system and unlock new opportunities for economic growth.
