Field Marshal Berhanu Arrives in Entebe, Uganda

Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Armed Forces, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, has landed in Entebe, Uganda for a working visit. Berhanu arrived in Uganda at the invitation of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defense Forces of the Ugandan People's Defense Forces (UPDF).

Upon arrival at the Entebe International Airport, the Field Marshal and members of his delegation were greeted warmly by the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Etsegenet Bezabih, the Ground Forces Commander in the UPDF, and other government officials.

Field Marshal Birhanu and General Muhoozi Kainerugaba discussed at length ways of bolstering Ethiopia's and Uganda's military cooperation as well as ways to emphasize the significance of both countries in maintaining regional peace and security. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba lauded the enduring and historical ties between Uganda and Ethiopia, which can be traced back to the Axumite era.

However, General Birhanu pointed out that the two countries' cooperation has developed into a strategic dimension, highlighting both countries' importance in preserving peace and security in the region.Both parties consented to solidify their partnership in enhancing military strength and associated matters.

Field Marshal Brigham Jula is expected to hold a one-on-one discussion with President Yoweri Museveni of the Republic of Uganda the next day.//
