Ethiopia, Brazil Discuss Balancing Trade Volume

Ethiopia vows to beef up its trade ties with Brazil by scaling up its exports to the South American country through an integrated approach.

This came as the two sides discussed Friday balancing their trade volume.

Ethiopian Trade and Regional Integration Minister, Kasahun Goffe, held a discussion with the Brazilian delegation on enhancing the trade relation between the two countries.

As Ethiopia and Brazil are members of BRICS, strengthening trade relations is vital, Kasahun added.

There is a need to further build a strong bilateral trade relations by increasing the exports to Brazil, and called for Brazilian investors to seize investment opportunities in Ethiopia, he explained.

The discussion led to an agreement to consult and sign MoUs to strengthen their partnership in terms of sharing Brazil's experience in the livestock, agriculture and manufacturing sectors.

Ethiopian State Minister for Agriculture, Eyasu Elias, also briefed Brazilian delegation that cooperation on agricultural sector, particularly on natural resource development would benefit both sides.
