Ethiopian State Minister for Industry Hassen Mohammed said Chinese investors are contributing to the national economic growth by engaging in the manufacturing sector in Ethiopia.
The state minister’s remark came during Ethiopia and China Trade and Investment Cooperation Promotion Forum.
Hassen indicated that the manufacturing industry sector is one of the sectors the government has placed emphasis within the economic structural transformation.
The “Let Ethiopia Produce” initiative has had a role in unlocking the sector’s potential and solving the bottlenecks there, according to the state minister.
Moreover, he underlined that the Ethio-Beijing cooperation has so far proved fruitful in broadening trade and investment options that benefit both sides through jointly operating in industrial parks, as well as areas of agriculture, technology development and other sectors.
He also called on Chinese investors to further engaged in the manufacturing sector of Ethiopia and the government will provide the necessary support for their efforts.
